My goal as a therapist is to offer a thoughtful, safe space to help you heal from the past and grow for the future.
Throughout our lives, we manage the stress of the current moment and the weight of our past experiences. Both of these factors can lead us to strategies for coping that are unhealthy and self-destructive. I view therapy as a collaborative journey to help you to be who you want to be and get what you want from life. We will recognize and build on the strengths that you already have, while developing new strategies to help you move forward. Through a structured, supportive space you can find new ways of being in the moment and being yourself.
I am a clinical social worker who supports people dealing with trauma, substance use and behavioral addictions, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and concerns related to identity. I work with adults, young adults, and couples. I am both licensed to practice in New York State, US and registered to practice in British Columbia, Canada.
I began my career in mental health through volunteering at a suicide prevention lifeline where I developed my skills in providing non-judgemental, present-focused support to individuals during their most distressed and vulnerable moments. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from CUNY Hunter Silberman School of Social Work. There I studied a range of therapeutic approaches, creating a varied style to personalize my work to clients’ needs. I further enhanced my clinical skills by training in sensorimotor psychotherapy and motivational interviewing. I have worked as a front-line worker in an outpatient clinic supporting people with substance use and mental health concerns, been a supervisor to other social workers, and managed a treatment program.
